Hotel d’Angleterre is one of the first deluxe accommodations in the world. This 5-star hotel can be found on Kongens Nytory opposite Charlottenborg and the Royal Opera and Nyhavn in Copenhagen. Hotel d’Angleterre all began with when Jean Marchal a servant in the royal court and Maria Coppy, the daughter of the royal chef fell in love. Their talents for cooking and serving complemented each other well, so they decided to put up a restaurant on King’s Square at the corner of Vingårdsstræde in 1755. Throughout the years, their restaurant expanded and became the now famous hotel which is known for marvelous hospitality, exclusivity and attention to detail.
The hotel is currently undergoing major renovations, but it will be re-launched within the year. The new Hotel d’Angleterre will have 90 spacious and elegant rooms and suites with an average of 50 square meters for living, relaxation and entertainment purposes.
The new bar and restaurant will be one of the hotel’s fashionable highlights along with the brasserie with a cocktail lounge. You may also look forward to the champagne bar and the fine dining gourmet restaurant.
