Some 25,000 visitors are expected to attend this event now celebrating its fifth year.
The Copenhagen Cooking festival is on and what better way to experience this than to check out the great restaurants of the Denmark capital. Copenhagen is now the holder of 14 Michelin stars courtesy of the prestigious French guide. Thirteen restaurants have earned these stars with the famous Noma Restaurant garnering two stars.
This yearly food festival known as the Nordens Madfestival aims to highlight the dining and wining lifestyle of Denmark and to entice people including tourists to be part of it. Just to give you a hint how popular this event is – 800 tickets were sold out in 15 minutes after the sales hotline opened. And this is just for one event only.
Copenhagen Cooking will take 10 days and almost 70 events are lined up all over Copenhagen making this year’s festival the largest ever. These include the Nordic Kitchen, Taste of Copenhagen, Tour de Tapas, Showcooking, kids ‘n’ sushi, Beer vs. Wine at the Michelin Restaurant Kiin Kiin, Gastronomic Stars of Tomorrow and Madeleines. Some events are free while some require tickets. The food show Eat 07 will take place from August 25-26 at the Oksnehallen exhibition center.
