Cargo Bikes that Made Christiana Famous

If there’s one thing that has made Denmark a great inspiration to the people of the world and to other countries, it’s their bicycle lifestyle. Anybody who likes to bike and who follows a healthy lifestyle looks up to this Scandinavian country. Not only are the Danes lucky to be able to bike to wherever they go every day of their lives but they also have unique bikes not found anywhere else in the world.

Denmark is in the forefront of the green movement. From its bicycle lifestyle and green buildings to its electric cars, Denmark is indeed leading the way in helping preserve Mother Earth.

Apart from the electric cars and buses that you can use to go sightseeing, Copenhagen also now has its electric-powered boats. The electricity that powers these batteries comes from the offshore wind farm outside of Copenhagen.

Denmark's Wind Power Growing Strong

Denmark was the first country to develop commercial wind power back in the 1970s. Today, this Scandinavian country is a leader in wind power worldwide. Did you know that more than 20 percent of electricity consumption by the Danes comes from clean energy generated by the wind turbines?

What to See and Do at the Deer Park

If there’s one nature park that you should not miss in Denmark, it has to be the Dyrehaven or Deer Garden Forest Park in Klampenborg. Situated in the northern part of Copenhagen, this place used to be a royal hunting ground. Today, this is a famous recreational area where people can picnic and watch animals particularly the deer.

Dyrehaven also called Jaegersborg is rich in flora and fauna. The presence of the deer alone, a total of 2,000 of them, makes this place a great destination for families and most especially those with kids.

Denmark is known for its commitment to the global green movement. It’s doing a great job in helping make the environment safer for people and it’s been properly recognized for such valuable effort in the recent years and months. This month, Denmark is once again on the spotlight for having the most climate friendly hotel in the world.

The Hotel Copenhagen Towers is the recipient of the World’s Greenest Hotel award. A unanimous panel from Cheers International, the world’s biggest travel and tourism organization gave the award.

Want to experience fine dining without having to pay for it? If yes, then check out the Crowne Plaza's Cycle for Your Supper program in Copenhagen, which will run for a year.

If there’s such a thing as a Black Sun, it’s only in Denmark where you can experience this. The place is Wadden Sea, the country’s third largest national park.

The Black Sun (or Sort sol in Danish) phenomenon is said to take place twice every year. The first occurrence is from middle of March to April while the second one takes place from middle of September to October.

Tourists in Copenhagen have various choices as to the way they want to tour the Danish capital. They can walk around, join a Copenhagen bike tour, drive around or just ride around. The last option is perhaps the most convenient as all you have to do is sit comfortably and view the great attractions in the city. And you can do this by taking the CityCirkel bus.
